You guys, it’s December! Say what!? Where did the year go? Is it only me who thinks that time flies waaaay too fast? I love Christmas time, but for me real Cristmas feeling starts only after the 6th of December, which is a special holiday in some places in Europe, I will tell more about that in my next post. So as I am not yet in full on holiday mode, today’s recipe is also not very festive, but it’s still comforting and cosy. Zwitserse preischotel (Swiss leek dish)

As I wrote in the title Zwitserse preischotel translates into Swiss leek dish. I don’t know if it’s really Swiss though, it’s how they call it here (if anyone has any idea about it, let me know). The first time I heard about this dish was 2 years ago. We just finished with furnishing the appartement and started inviting people over for dinner. Stoofvleees, Belgian beef beer stew.

From my experience stoofvlees is one of the most popular dishes among Belgians, first place goes to fries, of course, and they are, unsurprisingly, eaten as a side to this dish too. So what is stoofvlees? As I wrote in my title, this is a Belgian beef beer stew, we can call it BBB stew. Although BBB is an acronym that stands for buik, billen, benen (which are Dutch words for abs, but and legs), and is a name of a certain type of aerobics class.
